Leila Montes’ first album was born from the need to express years of dedication to music in which both song and lived experiences converge.
It reflects the genres and artists that have accompanied her throughout the years: Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, Maceo Parker, Erika Badu, Jill Scott, among many others, of whom she drinks without prejudice to express the way she sees and lives music. The result is an honest project where her personal experiences are the key protagonists; her personal voice strings together the harmony maze and the words resulting from them, paying particular attention to one of her distinctive signs, the vocal harmony.
